The battle lines have been drawn, the calls to arms made, so ready your horse and your drinking arm and prepare for GAME OF RHONES 2017.

Aside from having a bit of fun with the theme, Game of Rhones is really about celebrating the great grape varieties of the Rhone Valley. That’s Grenache, Shiraz, Mourvèdre, and more – even the odd white – from some of the best wine producers in Australia, New Zealand and beyond.

Here’s how the day will roll out:

Rock up from 1pm wearing your finest Game of Thrones-inspired outfits (this is optional but encouraged) and collect your Plumm wine glass – you’ll need it for the tastings, but you get to keep it afterwards, too. Proceed to taste as many wines (over 100 different ones) as you want – all tastings are included in the ticket price. Make sure you fuel up on food: your city’s best providers will be there, selling smoked and barbecued meats, smallgoods, cheese and more.

Game on.

Lady Adelaide has Fallen …

We long for Lady Adelaide

You may have noticed her falling this year. We LOVE her, but due to unavoidable scheduling clashes with Tasting Australia (and other national events including our own), we made the call to retreat for the moment.

But much like the plot line of a certain television show, she may just return, be revived and or end up taking over the entire vinous realm.

It was a very difficult call to make and one we did not do lightly. However, we shall return in force, however, in August with our fair sister PINOT PALOOZA

Hold tight City of Churches. Drink and celebrate the glory of your vinous regions till our return.
